Stake account FAQ: the questions new players ask first

Most account questions come down to a few rules: one account, the minimum age, the email check, identity documents and the Level 2 check. This page sorts the common questions by topic and gives a short answer to each, with the terms or help centre behind it.

QUESTION TOPICS

How the questions are grouped

The questions follow the stage of the account they belong to. Opening the account comes first, then the verification steps, the payment rules that depend on them and the responsible limits that apply throughout.

Who to contact for an account question
CONTACT

Who to contact for an account question

Stake's terms name email support and 24/7 live chat. The help centre answers many general questions first, so check it before you write in.

  • Email support

Write to support@stake.com for account questions the help centre does not answer. Never include your password or a two-factor code in an email.

  • Live chat

Available 24/7 once you are logged in. Have the email address on your account ready before you open the chat.

Where these answers come from

Each answer reflects Stake's terms of service or a help centre article, and it says so where a rule is stated. Where those sources do not give a figure or a step, the answer says that instead of filling the gap.

  • Terms of service

The terms set the age requirement, the one-account rule, the VPN restriction and the right to request documents.

  • Help centre

help.stake.com has sections for getting started, account, payments, casino, sports and Stake Smart. The answers here follow its account and payment articles.

READING THE ANSWERS

What an answer does and does not cover

The answers describe the rules that apply to a standard account. Your own account may carry extra requirements, so the account screens and the help centre take priority over any summary.

  • General rules only

Answers describe the general account rules. They do not replace the account screens, which show the current requirements for your own account.

  • No promises on outcomes

The FAQ explains how accounts and verification work. It does not predict any game result or guarantee that a withdrawal will be approved.

Points that cause the most account problems
KEY POINTS

Points that cause the most account problems

These are the points where account steps most often stall, judged against what the terms and help centre require: an email check left open, an unclear document or a withdrawal requested before Level 2 was complete.

  • Unverified email

Crypto deposits need a verified email and account, so the deposit cannot go ahead until the email check is complete. Verifying early avoids that wait.

  • Document quality

Stake accepts original, high-resolution colour photos only. Screenshots and digital documents are rejected, so photograph the physical document.

  • Level 2 timing

Local-currency withdrawals need Level 2 verification first. Complete that check before you request the withdrawal, not after.

FAQ

Stake account questions and short answers

Quick answers covering opening, email, identity and withdrawal checks. For the full steps, follow the links in each section of this guide.

How many accounts can one player have?

One. Stake's terms allow one account per player, and duplicate accounts can be closed with the funds in them held.

Who can open a Stake account?

Applicants must be at least 18 or the legal age of majority where they live, whichever is higher. Stake may ask for proof of age at any time.

Do I need to verify my email?

Yes, the check is part of the account setup. Select Verify Account and enter the code sent to your inbox, or finish it later under Settings > Account > Email.

Which identity documents are accepted?

An international passport, a national ID card (both sides) or a driving licence (both sides). The document must be valid for at least 3 more months and uploaded as an original colour photo.

Is Level 2 needed for a withdrawal?

Local-currency withdrawals require Level 2 verification. The help centre says cryptocurrency can be withdrawn without it.

How do I turn on two-factor authentication?

Set up an authenticator app under Settings > Security. Two-factor authentication then covers logins, withdrawals, tips and other outgoing transfers.

What limits can I set for responsible play?

Daily, weekly or monthly loss limits and wager limits are available, and daily deposit limits too. For loss and wager limits, a decrease takes effect immediately and an increase takes 24 hours.

Does a licence make the service legal where I live?

Not on its own. Stake's terms state that Medium Rare N.V. is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, but they also make each user responsible for lawful use where they live.
