Stake sign up on mobile: the steps that change on a phone

PHONE OVERVIEW

What changes on a phone and what does not

Most of sign-up works the same on a phone as on a computer: the same registration form, the same email code and the same identity rules. Four parts depend on the device in your hand: the ID photo taken with the camera, the mail app where the code arrives, the authenticator app you keep for logins and withdrawals, and the screen you use to check the photo before you upload it.

PHONE FEATURES

Four things to set up on a phone

These account features matter most when you manage the account from a small screen. Each one is set inside the account itself.

  • Verify Account

After registering, select Verify Account, open Confirm Your Email and enter the code from your inbox.

  • Two-factor setup

Open Settings > Security and set up an authenticator app. Once it is active, it covers logins, withdrawals, tips and other outgoing transfers.

  • Password recovery

The Forgot Password form uses the verified email on the account. Accounts opened through Facebook, Google, Line or Twitch reset the password on that platform.

  • Support contact

Email support@stake.com, or use 24/7 live chat once you are logged in.

Sign-up steps on a phone
SIGN-UP STEPS

Sign-up steps on a phone

Work through the steps in this order. The account must exist before the email check, and the email check must be finished before crypto deposits, which need a verified email and account.

  • Photograph the ID with the phone camera

Use the camera in good light to photograph a passport, or both sides of a national ID card or driving licence. The photo must be an original, high-resolution colour image of the physical document, and the document must be valid for at least 3 more months. Screenshots and digital documents are rejected.

  • Copy the email code from the mail app

After you register, select Verify Account and open Confirm Your Email. Keep the phone's mail app open so you can copy the code from Stake's message straight into the account.

  • Install the authenticator app on this phone

Under Settings > Security, set up an authenticator app. Install it on the phone you play from, because its codes are needed for logins, withdrawals, tips and other outgoing transfers.

  • Check the photo before you upload

Look at the photo at full size on the phone screen before you send it. Every corner of the document should be in frame and every detail readable. A screenshot of the document is not accepted, so take a new photo instead.

PHONE HABITS

Two habits that keep sign-up moving on a phone

These habits apply to any phone and browser. They keep the steps above moving without losing a page or a code.

  • Good light for the ID photo

Photograph the document on a flat, plain surface in daylight or bright room light. Hold the phone steady so the text and the edges of the document are sharp.

  • Switch apps instead of retyping

Move between the mail app and the browser on one phone so you can copy the code, rather than typing it from a second device.

HELP ON A PHONE

Getting help from a phone

Stake's terms name email support and 24/7 live chat. Live chat works only once you are logged in, so keep the email route in mind for sign-up problems.

  • Email

Write to support@stake.com from the email address on the account. Do not send your password or a two-factor code.

  • Help centre

help.stake.com has getting started and account sections that cover the same email and two-factor steps.

BASIS

What this page is based on

The account steps follow Stake's terms and its help centre articles on email verification, two-factor authentication and password resets. Where a rule is not published, this page says so instead of guessing.

  • Terms of service

The terms set the one-account rule, the minimum age, the ban on VPN and false residence details, and the right to request documents.

  • Help centre

Articles on email verification, two-factor authentication and password resets describe the steps used here.
